Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping was developed by a Japanese chiropractor, Dr. Kenzo Kase. For the first decade after its introduction, practitioners in Japan were the main users of the therapeutic kinesiology tape. By the late 1980s, the tape had been adopted by Japanese Olympic and professional athletes before spreading across the World.

Kinesiology taping is designed to facilitate the body's natural healing process whilst supporting and stabilising muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopaedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions.
Kinesiology tape when applied correctly, can provide the following physiological effects:

-
Relieves pain
-
Supports muscles in movement
-
Removes lymphatic fluid congestion
-
Corrects joint misalignment
-
Assists in positioning a muscle or joint into the proper position for rehabilitation
-
Assists a weak muscle by placing it in a normal position
-
Improves kinesthetic awareness of posture and alignment.

Kinesiology taping's key differentiator is its ability to aid the lymphatic and muscle systems. For many, the kinesiology taping applications are a significant breakthrough which substantially reduces recovery times and improves fitness levels.

Kinesiology taping will allow a full range of joint movement so it can be worn easily in competition and training. It is not bulky and is usually not noticeable once on. It can be left on for up to 5 days.
Trainer Therapist use Kinesiology taping when appropriate for the progression of injuries as they resolve and enable increasing activities as part of a specific treatment plan on the road to recovery.
